yes
i have had braid and line from questions asked in their advice sections.
Best ever won was in trout fisherman won £500 worth of fishtec vouchers but that was years ago and many stamp past.
I have stoped buying sea angler as i see once again no mention of northern ireland this mnth there is a part on what and were to fish all year but no bit on northern ireland. If anyone can be bothered email them and tell them this not on.

I get SA subscribed as a present. A lot of stick by people over different boards and much of it founded but if you don't want to buy it you don't.
Noticed over the last year or so there's been quite a bit on Ireland by Henry Gilbey. Seems to be centred on Cork or Kilkee areas with the same bloke. Now I like his enthusiasm as a presenter but this months feature is accompanied by an advert for his new DVD. Seems to be a push there!
That said there's always been talk of the magic fishing in Ireland which lead to my first trip there last year after reading in the 80s and early 90s of the magic of Inch etc. Although I found the fishing disappointing I loved it and although I couldn't make it back this year I will be back late August next year. Reading other posts you seem to suffer much as back here with over-fishing as anyone. Sign of the times I think.
See you next year in Dingle. :D

When you actually think of what Henry is I feel is is doing a good job!
He's an angler from England intoducing people to the fishing potential of Ireland, albeit from the Cork/Kilkee areas. :o He has also intoduced me to the fishing potential of the Shannon estuary and surrounding areas. 8)
Now for me that cant be bad. I'm from up North and really apart from word of mouth, and let's face it, it was this big scenario mostly doesn't cut it anymore like it used too, I don't get to see what the whole Ireland has to offer me fishing wise. Now after seeing the areas for myself on TV and in mags and also reading about them on the forum it has wet my appeitite to fish there. Now, if Henry has done that for me think of the anglers that are now coming over from the mainland for the very same reason. Those areas mentioned above I feel can only capitalise on the revenue that I feel Henry has brought to them over recent times and hopefully go from strength to strength in all areas, be it in the hospitality trade or even in the local tackle trade.
Now that's my tuppence worth and I'm sure someone will feel that I am talking through were a monkey puts its nuts, but................
Thanks as always
Steve

entered some comps in sea angler but never won anything and was never that keen on total sea fishing thought it was just a spin off from sea angler. Stopped buying them both like other people said reports on ireland were a bit thin and not a lot of detail and remember once counting how many times an fladen floatation suit was advertised in sea angler 14 times!!!!! and this was taking up between a half page to a full page everytime!!!! plus half of the magizine is bloody adverts. The only one id buy now is Irish Angler
