Withdrawal syptoms

#1 Post by alancooper »

I am being dragged off for a week's package holiday to Madeira in the Azores during Jan - has anyone fished there? - can I do any shore fishing? (not interested in game fishing from boats - just a few snatched hours when I can escape - to stop fishing withdrawal symptoms). Anyone been there?

I know a few guys who have fished for big game out there and from what they tell me take some spinning gear, find some deep water (shouldnt be hard, its an undersea mountain, plenty of rock marks) and you should find some fun close in

i was there last year to do a bit of marlin fishing and saw the locals fishing (spinning and float) from every pier / rock / outcrop.

so there must be some fish there.
