white rocks info needed

#1 Post by grabster »

Well then, with the holiday season almost here and some much needed time off work looming i am thinking of heading up to the white rocks for an all day session. Ive never fished there before and would appreciate any pointers regarding locations ,baits and what i can hope to catch.
Either by posting here or pm i dont mind which. Im looking forward to a change from the usual marks between carrick and redbay.
If it aint worth going there im open to other suggestions...
Cheers.

White Rocks? I'm sure it'll produce Flatties for ya, But since you're up that Direction don't forget the Miriad of Marks that'll surround you! Portrush Harbour, Ramore Head, Portstewart Strand, The Blue Pool to name a few... Don't pin your hopes on the Whiterocks, there's so much more up there... 8)

Thanks for the replies there lads,i am happy enough to fish a few marks while im there but after checking the tides for the day im going it looks like it will be a lunchtime start then fish into the late evening,so in that case i think i will probably stay in one spot as i really dont know portrush that well.
where is the blue pool and what sort of mark is it ?

Thanks for the pic, Muck, very clear.
At least parking shouldnt be a problem.
I take it that its a rough ground mark ?

Hi drew, how far out does the rough stuff start cos a wee bit for you may be unreachable for others of lesser casting abilities ?
I am planning on both floating and bottom fishing anyway but its always good to gain knowledge from those whom have lost tackle before.

Around 10 yrds at most i would say then claen sand. Best after dark, but you'll need to keep your eye on the sea!

cheers for that, sometimes its hard enough looking out for myself never mind keeping an eye on my wandering son and his ability to see nothing and trip over everything.
