Donegal winter!

#1 Post by hairyconger »

Write lads i fish donegal as often as i can , what i want to know is why theres rarely any reports about it?

Also is it me or does donegal seem to be a no go in the winter? just wondering because any reports i have seen for winter in donegal just seem to be crap to say the least! :?

Is there anywhere thats worth a chuck up there at this time of the year and what can i expect to catch?

yes i agree with hairy, wats happening round malin head, etc etc, as for people fishing in boats, i dont think they would go out at this time of year as the sea is to rough. :!:

Beachcaster mentioned that shore angling is new to Donegal.....I've been shore fishing Donegal for 16 years John  All the marks are still fishing, more so once it gets dark. Problem with a lot of the rock marks at this time of the year is the bloody weather, south wests and wests are a pig for a lot of Donegal marks so recently its been a case of waiting for a week or more for a lull so that i can get out.
Sea Species(25) bass, codling, whiting, turbot, seatrout, stingray, pollock, coalfish, longspine scorpion, ballan wrasse, dogfish, ling, pouting, poor cod, dab, mackerel, smelt, sandeel, launce, bull huss, painted ray, thick lip mullet, golden grey mullet, rock goby.
Fresh Water (2) brown trout, sea trout
