People:John Lynch, Derry, Me

Duration:19:30 till 23:30

Tide: High after 19:30

Weather:Clear skies. Not much wind until a southrly picked up.

Bait:Fish, Squid, black wraps

Rigs:Pulleys and clipped paternoster

Results:
John: 2 good sized Dabs, a few whiting. pout and a dog. (sorry if missed out anything John)
Derry: Strap around 6lbs I think.
Me: 2 dog size Huss

Catch and Release:: Dabs may well be on a frying pan at this minute

Report:John Fished ealier at 5 till around 9:30 and caught the dabs before I arrived. Derry was pulling up the strap just as I set up. I did a half hearted effort to follow Johns lead at scratchin for a few species with paternosters but soon switched over to pulleys and great big baits. The reason for this was my second rod was out with a whole squid I had a bite and I got one of the hardest fight off a fish all year. The lads thought I was trying to pull out of a snag until they saw a huss surface. I couldn't land the fish so the lads came to my assitance but the 80lb snood broke as they pulled it in. I was tad gutted to say the least but got two smaller huss just before the tide turned followed by 2 bites that snagged up. I lost a fair bit of gear as the tide ran hard later on the ebb. Derry had few lost bites and had something big lost on the way in.

I will probably fish there next saturday from bout 5 to 10pm, i prefer to fish the two or three hours after high tide and 2 hours after low water.
