Waterfoot Beach Co. Anrtim 05 Nov

#1 Post by glengormley-gavin »

People: Me and 13 other GADSAC members, Drew, Hairyconger and Paul

Duration:1500 - 2000

Tide: LW 1630

Weather: Nice, calm and flat sea

Bait: Rag, mack, sandeels, peeler, sprats and some home made Rubby-Dubby 8) 8)

Rigs: 2 hook flappers, flyer and a pulley

Results: Me - 2 flounder, 1 @ 28cm, 1 @ 18cm and lots of y-ting, others had flounder, coalies and the first ever counting y-ting @ 27cm . Oh... and a 2lb Bass :D :D :D

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:
Waterfoot Beach was the venue for the final club comp of the year, a great turn-out was rewarded with lots of fish although most were under 25cm.

I had my bigger flounder on the second cast and as darkness fell, the y-ting were destroying our baits.

Lots of different rigs and tactics were being used as several of the clubs side competitions were to be finalised tonight along with the Master Angler title going down to the wire.

Well done to Jonny for taking the Master Angler Title and a special mention goes to Conor C for taking the junior title just ahead of young John Picken who fought right til the end.

Tonights comp was won by Neill with 2 flounder and a coalie.

Gerry Picken also done us all pround with a beautiful Bass @ 2lb - this was the first Bass I have witnessed being caught and a first for the club this year :D :D :D

As always, the craic was 90 tonight....

Looking forward to the new season starting in Jan...

Go Conor, Go Conor, well done wee man, you definately deserved it?

It's good to see such enthusiam for fishing from someone that is still fairly young. 8)

Full credit to Conor, rain, hail, sleet and snow he's there! Freezing his wee wotsits off, smile on his face asking all those questions and taking all the replies in and learning all the time. Soon you'll be showing your uncle GG the way to go.

Keep up the good work and get plenty of rigs made for next year. I would bet that you will make it 2 in a row for the junior master angler next year!

Well done again

Steve

Only joking matey, your fingers were still probably freezing knitting those rag warmers you are renoned for in your buddy.
