People:Me & JJ

Duration: 4 hours

Tide:incoming

Weather: very sunny and calm

Bait:Lug, mack, razor

Rigs: various

Results:coalies and more coalies

Report: Went out expecting a few cod. Was also out on Monday but the fish were nowhere to be found. On Friday we were able to go further out but only caught a nice pollock and one coalie. Decided to try for bass by trolling Eddystone eels from Calaso bay to Ferryoint. Again they would not co-operate. Dropped baited feathers overboard just outside the lighthouse and the coalies came up in 3's. Fishing was frantic for about 20 minutes and then died.

Went for a quick spin up the river because of the beautiful day. There was a group of anglers bank fishing at the Abbey. Maybe there are some fish moving up there.

Has anyone caught any cod in Youghal recently? I would expect to be getting some at this time of the year.
