#1 Post by eric »

People:me and james

Duration:3-6

Tide:half way out

Weather:sunny

Bait:rag and mackrel

Rigs:2 hook flapper and flyer

Results:1 and half whiting and a collie

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:lovely day and the sea was nice and coloured and also calm,pretty much the same to when i caught my last bass here. this time i tried white rock by the rocks where its a tried and tested bass mark here on killiney. bass up to 8lbs are not too uncommon. tide was not great its much better on the flood .
anyway on the first cast i got a small bite on the flyer wich went over on the next bite. my conoflex landed on the beach and i raced over to it, picked it up and reeled in and all i got was half a whiting. after one hour of nothing else we moved to the car park and james got 1 collie of half a lbs and another whiting.
does anyone know what would have done that to the whiting its only happened once before , someone suggested a cuttlefish?
reports during the week at killiney have been bad even at night not a good sign for winter.
