Close to Belfast

Where would I get a little sport close to Belfast ? Was hoping to target Grey Fort but am unsure of what winter species possible. Any help greatly appreciated.

Depends what sport your after mate - linenhall street might turn something up

Seriously though - you could try Carrick Pier or go a bit further to Portmuck - you will get flats, dogs and pouting at either mark.

You can also try Glenarm Breakwater - virtually guaranteed dogs here.

The Dee...

The Dee Fishes well from now to January with Coalies, Pollack, Codling and Whiting all in abundance. Fish half way to the other pier with Fish or worm baits and you're pretty much guarantee'd bites.
2015 Lure: Pollack, Herring, Whiting, Sand Goby, Poor Cod, Pouting

42 Species to beat 2011 & 2014

u'll still catch plenty of doggies at helens bay thru the winter along with whiting mate. just fish from the rocks close to the beach rather than the rocks under the fort. loads of dogs along that beach.
