#1 Post by merv147 »

People: me & bigliam

Duration: 5 hours

Tide: on its way in

Weather: calm with I slight breeze

Bait: rag/mackerel/squid

Rigs: 2 hook paternoster and 1 hook pulley rigs

Results: 6 doggies 1 Pollack 1 cod

Report: me and bigliam went to glenarm beach on Saturday night we had 2 rods each what we would do is fish one out as far as we can chuck it and have the other rod close in some times you can get good fish like that. I was at the Armagh planetarium that day and didn’t get home till close to 6pm and the time we got fishing it was close to 7pm we were going to fish the breakwater but there was 2 guys on it so we went to the beach. There were 2 other guys fishing as well they didn’t chat much but we said hello anyway. We got set up and are lines in the water nothing much happened for a good hour then I had a good bite on the rod that I had out far reeled it in and had the classic doggie rise as I was bringing it in that was them starting up for the night. It was about 8pm and another angler showed up Tony we had a chat I meat the guy before fishing glenarm nice chap anyway as the night went on we had another 5 doggies Liam had a nice Pollack about the 1/2lb mark and we were packing up at about 12.30 I reeled in the long range rod and had to my surprise I nice little cod on the end the first cod I have had in a good 6-8 months it was about 1/2lb maybe closer to the 3/4lb mark anyway I gave him the rex hunt treatment and put him back we had a yarn with Tony when we were packing the car he had a doggie wile we were packing up and that was it for Saturday anyway.

7 out of the 8 fish were over 80 yards out

yea it wasn't bad now the fishing was good and so was the crack that's what you want for a good nights fishing just a shame i couldn't get back before 6 tho but apart from that it was a good night and i think that we might be giving glenarm another go soon.

i like righting out fishing reports some times they can be a bit long at times but i don't mind it means that you can get a feel for how the nights fishing was rather than just 2 or 3 lines
