"Maria" sub-surface lures

#1 Post by teacher »

Is anyone using these at the moment? Are they working? How do they compare with the cheaper crystal minnor for example?

Does anyone know where you can get them, apart from veals?

I saw a post on another forum by your man Gilbey which I think was later deleted by the mods (presumably for promoting a new DVD he is bringing out on bass fishing - it looked to be a genuine post.) He said that the Maria Chase BW and SW gave the best results out of all the lures/plugs they used. He said to use a very quick retrieve, then stop and very quick retrieve again. I think he described the plug as skittering along the surface.
I have only ever seen them available from Veals.

Cheers lads. I saw a very positive review of the Maris lures in the new Veals catalog by Mike Ladle. I'm naturally sceptical about reviews in catalogs though :)
