People: Johnny and me
Duration: 6pm to 10pm
Tide: Low water at 10.30
Weather: Fresh south west, overcast
Bait: mackerel
Rigs: 3 hook flappers, float rig and shrimpers
Results: Pollock 20, Scad 2, Mackerel 3, Coalfish 3, Poor Cod 1 and Dogfish 1
Catch and Release: Yes (except for mackerel)
Report: Knew that there would be no great sport at Teelin but that she would be comfortable and that there should be enough small fish to keep us busy. So it proved to be.
Tide was emptying pretty fast whilst we were there and was pleasantly surprised to find a double mackerel shot on my first cast with the shrimpers. Fished hard for the next 20 minutes but only got another one but that was bait sorted. Cast one rod out onto the clean baited with the mackerel but for the whole evening it was out I only got one bite and wound in a dog/poor cod double shot...the rest of the time the crabs had the baits stripped in minutes...handy on the last cast of the night when you don't have to clean the hooks of old bait..little feckers have em all shiny and spankin  On the float though it was pretty much constant action with lots of small pollock, coalies and scad...bites actually increased as it neared low water. Nothing spectacular but good to get out and wet a line and catch some fish all the same.

Teelin pier
Hows it goin Pete ,
I fished the pier last Saturday , off the elbow at about 80 yards - 2 Dogfish on mackerel. Spent an hour at the rocks , almost impossible to hold the bottom - 4 mackerel , 2 wrasse.
Im still waiting for that Turbot - none this year.

Of the pier Mark, was too lumpy outside to fish the rocks. Met two lads that drove all the way from Boyle in Roscommon to fish it...long way to go for small pollock and mackerel. Silverocket I've never caught turbot there, you must have picked me up wrong in my last report for there...turbot was caught on surf beach out towards Ardara.
Steve you'll have to join us in Teelin some day...make a weekend out of it and stay in that friend of yours house
