Waterfoot and Carnlough Beach 29/09/06

#1 Post by Livid »

People: Myself, Drew and Hairy

Duration: 5pm - 11:30pm

Tide: Low and up

Weather: Very nice, still, clear skies but the temp dropped sharply

Bait: mack, crab, sandeel, squid, razor fish

Rigs: 2 hook flapper, not sure what they used

Results: Pollack, Dab, Whiting, Coalfish, Crab

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

We actually first went to Cushendunn but it was unfishable and the water looked like Guiness.

All fish were small, at Waterfoot i managed 2 Dab, 2 Pollack and a Coalfish, Drew managed something similar minus the flatties and poor Hairy blanked, it was low water at Waterfoot and we were absolutely getting herranged by mini pollack, great watching shoals of them attack small fish bait parts we threw in, they even attacked a cigarette but! We decided to move onto Carnlough for the start of the push, very poor session here from all, i got a small whiting and a crab while the other poor chaps blanked, my shoulders started to seize up with the cold and we were a bit fed up so headed home.
