B.A.S.S OPEN 23rd Sept Slob Bank Youghal

#1 Post by drseafish »

People: About 10

Duration:2-6pm

Tide: 4.0M 7pmFT

Weather: Showers, strong on shore wind

Bait: I assume most were using crab possibly tipped with all sorts

Rigs: lots

Results: Flounder, Bass, Coalies and Coddling

Catch and Release:: Yes/No
All fish released except for 1 BASS

Report:
An unusual day on the slob when lots of Bass are caught, but it appeared that recent storms and the onshore wind pushed them over towards the slob. A quite a few Bass were taken but all bar 2 were under the legal size. The biggest Bass was ~53cm (8 yrs old). Some nice flounder over 40 cm and a few small coalies and coddling were taken.
Thanks to all for turning up .
