GLENARM BREAKWATER 16/9/06

#1 Post by the-ghost »

People: me and j.c

Duration: 17.30 - 1.00am

Tide: high water then outgoing

Weather: fine, dry and calm

Bait: lug, rag, squid and mackeral

Rigs: flappers and bombers

Results: 10 doggies, 1 codling, 1 pouting, 2 lobsters and an octupus!

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: got 2 glenarm and the weather was great! no action at all until darkness fell then the dogs started to weigh in. jc got a codling but whenever he got it in it had no tail and was dead. as the tide dropped the doggies were the only fish making an appearance. bumped into lee 337 who gave me some great tips and advice. good nite had by all

coud have been a seal mate i know i seen one around there not long ago when i was fishing red bay pier one night last year a seal attacked a flounder i was bringing it in. or it could have been a conger eel i know there are some down there 2 years ago when i was fishing the breakwater a conger had taken my bait i had 20LB line on and it toyed with me for a min then just broke it like it wasn't there. alot of people think that conger's only eat dead fish they will eat a fish that is injured or trapped
