[b]Just Me

[b]9am to 1 pm

[b]HW at 8am

[b]Beautiful day - sunshine - light southerly

[b]Frozen sandeel

[b]Pulley rigs

[b]7 LSDs and a 2lb bass

[b]Catch and Release:: Yes

Beautiful sunny morning in Newcastle - days like this are a real bonus in September. The LSDs were a lot bigger than usual 2 to 3 lb and actually put up a bit of a fight - I was was well pleased. Got the bass towards the end of the session at distance - all returned safely - a very enjoyable few hours

Great going Aido :D , have found you can often get great sized dogs from Newcastle.
Just wondering if weed was a problem at all and where on the beach you were fishing?

Cheers RS & Col

Weed has ruined many a session on the Wicklow beaches for me Col...
but yesterday was a 'weed free day' - a rare pleasure

.....but I did forget my sandwiches :(

All the best

.....Oh - I was fishing just by the level crossing

Got billy bass at about 100 yards straight out on a simple pulley rig, a 5/0 hook (always hopeful !) and a big frozen sandeel lashed on with loads of bait elastic

...normally I'd only detect 50% or less of doggie bites, but yesterday I saw each bite and struck into it - made me feel like a proper angler - knowing when I had a fish on every time !

Is it the time of year that makes the doggies more vigorous - is the sea at it's warmest this time of year ....
