Is it worth trying a popper at high tide for Bass...?
Sounds like the kinda mark I would seek out to be honest.!

it does doesnt it... but unfortunately most of the bass in the bay have been netted out of it over the years...

but worth a try if you want to...

well first off i blanked

was fishing a two hook flapper only got a couple of bites in a five hour session

was to the west of the pier - on the turn the weed was horrendous
lads on the pier got about 3 macks in the same time

anyways auld codger comes down to me - any fish

then after a bit of banter about the macks not coming in starts asking me about "anything jumping"

say he would have been out with the net before you could say - illegal

there was a group jumping just to my right and they werent interested in anything i put across their path

I love that area of the Burren. As a matter of coincidence, I was there this morning at high tide but was down near the lake. Tried plugging and spinning (the water was deep enough.) Caught nowt but what's new.
It's a good place for getting bait.
