I was talking to stephen and he told me that he is not a member of this forum, and somebody joined using his name. THAT'S NOT RIGHT.

It isn't and the person responsible has been banned.

i do not know the backgroud to this or the complainant but it occurs that there are possibly several people with this name.

as i say i dont know the background and this "stephen brennan" may well have been up to no good but we should remembere that given names are not unique

Ray,

I'm sure there are but the guy first asked who was going to the Daiwa pairs which would leave the impression it was THE Stephen Brennan. He than put a post out with a load of random letters.

The person responsible was not "a" or "the" Stephen Brennan. He passed himself off as "the" Stephen Brennan.
That username (stephen brennan) has been disabled, as is the person's own username.
Matching IP was also banned.
This guy had also made multiple posts across forums advertising stuff he had on sale.

One further point.
Anybody who impersonates anybody else in future will have their accounts disabled, and all known ips, emails banned (without notice0.
If anybody really wants to make an issue of it, it is against the AUP of most ISPs to impersonate other people, cause unnecessary nuisance etc etc.

 Don't start asking if I am really Pat Spillane, It was not my choice. To make it worse I live in Kildare a county which took a lot of stick from the Kerry man.
