codling?

hi lads
was wondering if the north beech in greystones is good for codling at this time of year?i have never caught a codling so any tips or advice is highly welcome.

Hi Ian,

It's a great spot this time of the year in the right conditions of course. Next Monday & Tuesday night, with fresh or frozen peeler i'd almost guarantee you will catch a few. Some good easterlies forecast from Friday over the weekend which churn things up a bit and the codling can turn up like clockwork after a good blow.

Take a look at the link and ye can see a fairly accurate forecast of wind direction & strength for greystones over the next few days.

thanks for replying,i would love to catch a codling! i think il go out on monday night for a while and see what happens.is there any good spot on this beech or can you fish anywhere??

Fish at the start of the cliffs. Best spot is where you can see the birds nest holes on the side of the cliff. Anywhere there along the beach is good.
