youll get mackeral and pollack on the float aswell - basically most "normal" fishing species!!!

very handy if youve got deep water at your feet and your feeling a bit lazy! and you dont want to lose too many rigs in the rocks/kelp

certainly crab on the float gets wrasse

Mr Green, it gives you something different to watch and stops you going cross-eyed watching your rod tip!
Nothing bettere than seeing your float diving to the depths! Brilliant :)
Have fun.

Floating a large peeler is also a very effective way to target large bass. I've seen this technique work when lures, poppers, etc. have failed. Great fun with lighter gear. The float allows you to keep the bait clear of crabs, as well as keeping the rig clear of snags. You may need to experiment with different depths, depending on water depth.

I haven't done much experimentation with this, but it seems that leaving your peeler crab-shaped (i.e. leave the legs on) helps as the outline is important, at least for bass.
