I have been recently fishing the local marks such as whitehead and carrick, I was wanting to upgrade my species and hopefully start landing some good fighting fish like dog's and congers or maybe rays.
I was wondering how to go about starting to land these type of fish.
for example.
what kind of technique and bait would i need to catch dogfish and what time of day do i need to go. (does high tide apply). apologies for the amount of questions.
Thanks in advance

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago, have a look at the search option and you'll come across all the answers you need.Good luck.
A bad day fishing is better than a good day at the office!

as for conger bring a rag to get a better hold of them also allows you to cover their eyes before you grab them if they see your hand they could go for it
