Was speaking to a guy fished the beach last sunday(non forum member).....using rag tipped with mackera, had a steady stream of flounder in a 4 hr session with the tide filling hope this helps

Straight mackeral or sandeel seems to be the bait for rays in the swilly..... ...........as for rigs im not sure but clipped down single's might be the way to look........sandman and others from donegal might be able to point you in the write direction :?:

in a match, 3 hook flapper with size 1 or 1/0 b490s, snoods about 15inches of 30lb, that way you will take all of the available species, the addition of a couple of lumi beads sometimes helps too.
you could tie a 3 hook loop /golds / millenium rig, that way they can all be clipped if extra distance is required.
Not the BigPhil from Irish Angler mag, I'm the original, i swear!!!!
