People: Me and m.b3

Duration: 16.00 - 21.30

Tide: HW ~ 17.00

Weather: Moderate westerly, Sunny spells, Heavy thundery showers.

Bait: Crab, rag, sandeel mack, squid.

Rigs: Various 3 Hook rigs

Results: 1 Bass, 1 painted ray, 8 flounder, 6 Dab, 10 whiting, 2 coalies, 5 weavers.

Report:

Weather was'nt too bad for the first couple of hours after we arrived and the water was moderately clear. Most of the fish were caught during this period with me getting a schoolie of about 2lb in close on a bunch of rag and Mark getting the ray at about 60 yards on sandeel/squid cocktail. It was only a juvenile but nice to see. Soon after this there was a downpour of biblical proportions with thunder and hail thrown in which lasted for about 40 minutes and turned the water to chocolate. This seemed to kill the fishing and our spirits with it. Bait got a soaking too, left the beach buddy at home!
The lack of dogs was a bit of a surprise and I'll probably regret saying this but I kind of missed the rough skinned little beggers. Not the best of sessions with no big fish, but plenty of minis to keep the rod tips going.

Hard to say Pat. The colour in the water really seemed to have an adverse effect on the fishing. Depends on whether its cleared or not really. Best of luck anyway.
