People: Gearoid and me

Duration:before 9am till 1am

Tide:10:20 low tide

Weather: westerly wind with mist showers

Bait: fish baits, lug and rag

Rigs: mainly pulleys

Results:
Gearoid: 5 dogs
Me: 6lb ray, 1lb ray and 2 dogs

Report: I had the 2 ray and a dog before gearoid arrived a 9:30. I had fish a cast and couldn't keep up. All these fish were 20 to 30 yards from shore and the 6lb ray gave a hell of fight. The 7lb ray I got here the last day was reeled in like a bunch of crabs. Went quiet then but Gearoid got the dogs through the session to lug and squid. I had a couple of slack bites after low water and a very gentle small bite that didn't produce. Further on I had a wallop of bite and the rod was put under pressure to bring. Turned out to be a ray with the trace around it and was on the surface 10 yards from shore when crack the 80lb snood went. I should of chanced wading out for it. Gearoid had a better look at it and reckoned it was a 8lber. Had a dog on the next cast which really didn't make up. Very quiet for the last hour with gearoid getting a dog on his last cast.
