try 3 hook rig. size 4's, clear snood line and a sequin or two above the bait. vary the lenghts of your hooklenghts to see which one works on the day- make one with short 8-10" snoods and the other longer up to 20" and alternate between them until you find what one fishes best. it might seem silly but this can make a difference to the catch rate. as for bait using small king rag tipped with a small piece of sandeel or mackeral is reliable. you will catch other species such as plaice and flounders fishing this way. as regards obtaining bait in this area? well there is nowhere i know of, sorry.

Taken from http://www.fishingireland.net/dublin/dnsea.htm

"North Beach at Greystones is renowned for its shore fishing for coalfish, codling, dogfish, dab, plaice and occasional turbot, sole and conger. At Greystones Harbour there is pier fishing for codling, small pollack and occasional bass. Rock fishing onto sand for codling, coalfish, whiting and plaice.

The South Beach, Greystones produces codling, pollack , dab, plaice and dogfish. Hotspots are opposite the outflow pipe on the “Hungry Acre” and around the stream at Ballygannon. There is easy access across the railway line at Kilcoole where codling, coalfish, dogfish, dab, whiting and plaice turn up in catches regularly."

Bait-wise, I have seen people digging th mud flats at Bray.

The right side of south beach towards the gannons is the best, it's rough but will produce the most fish especially coalies.................................................and then there is the tope
