Stopped at Doorn and got heaps of mackerel in no time, lots of smaller than average stuff but nice not to have to go searching.
Headed to small reef/rock mark but found the fish right on top of it but no where else. The rock itself is in 75 feet of water but the ground is broken all around it dropping into 90 feet. All the fish were compressed into the small area on the very top of it....two drops was the most you got before u drifted off it. Pouting, wrasse and pollock came aboard.
Moved to another much larger reef and on a longer drift took some good pouting to 2lb, cuckoo wrasse to just over a pound and pollock to a modest 4lb. Wind was getting up at this stage so headed into shelter on the sand...one measly dogfish was the result of that.
Headed home, got the dinner and went out to the river with the fly rod and caught a sea trout :)
