Smooth Tide

#1 Post by George »

Just wondering what tides are suited best for smoothound. I have heard a high tide coinciding with sunset on a warm sunny day is best. Any truth?????? Planning a long snood pulley pennell with 2/0 hooks. Have been crabing for ages now to get the stock up, so hopefully it pays off!!

How are ya george. Ideally you'd want low tide an hour or so before sunset so that your fishing the rise into darkness.
I require a tremendous amount of calcium

If anyone has ever caught smoothies on the west coast i'd be very interested to learn where? I know of fish been caught as far west as Kerry. Anyone ever hooked a smoothound on the west coast??

Did you ever say you knew someone who caught smooties on the west coast? Was that something else we were talking about? Looking for a gig out west for a few days...
