can anyone let me know what the fishing is like from the rocks as you leave newcastle heading towards kilkeel. what am i likely too catch and what bait to use. want to take the kids out. cheers

i havent fished there before but it looks like good bass territory on past the marina off the rocks.i would try there with floats and ragworm and you may also catch some pollack, cod and coalie.i fished just off the rocks in my boat before there with white feathers and took a good 100 mackerel if your up for the mackerel bashing.the other option is to fish for sea trout from the beach near the centre of newcastle and at the mouth of the river as i have often seen the sea trout trying to get up there.but wherever you fish i would hunt for some rags.i might be heading down to newcastle tomorrow so i hope its fishing well.you should have a good chance
