People: Myself and Missus

Duration: Tuesday - Wednesday

Tide: All states

Weather: Sunny

Bait: Hokkias, Feathers

Rigs:

Results: 30 Mackeral. 4 on tuesday rest after 5 am on wednesday when heard fish jumping cast in the hokkias and pulled 2 macks out, not to be outdone the Wife got 3 on her cast. The fry were jumping everywhere u looked. Seals took a few on us which the wife didnt mind as she got near as much enjoyment watching the seals as fishing.

you lucky ******* your missus likes fishing. was there for last 2 weekends . harbour was full of mackerel. fished on round the rocks 2 get away from seals. good wrass and pollack only 5 mackerel

According to a few people the the rocks were teeming with macks. some kids caught a fish box full, me being a slim energetic young fella ( lol bulls**t fat old git) could get to the rocks but missus couldnt with her back so had to stay on the pier. Might head down next weekend if tides r right for the buses.

Was down at Bangor yesterday for the mackerel. Couldn't miss, got board after a while..... I took a big cool box down with the cooler blocks in it. Had it filled with over 40 mackerel in about 40 mins. Am thinking of heading back down with the fly rod at the weekend. The mackerel were only about 20 feet out at about 6-10ft deep. Good to see the young kids having a ball with them....The future of our fishing

Where in Bangor can you Fly Fish without hitting a holidaymaker on the back cast (serious question).

Maybe give the back of the long hole (small to the right of Bangor pier, Ballyholme direction) a go as more people tend to fish the main pier or even the rocks beyond it but they tend to get filled fairly quick aswell..

The rocks on Seacliff road are good for the fly rod, I have had alot of mackerel off them this year on the fly, chesties are good too so you can get access when noone else is about :D :D Saying that I think the sandeels have thined out a bit so the mackerel arnt going just so mad atm. You`ll most likely need to fish between 10-15ft so fast sinker lines or weighted flies like clousers or jiggys are a good idea as is fishing 2 in tandem (doubles are more fun too)

You could try over the wall at the car park opposite the pitch and putt at Ballyhome .There is too much weed for traces or spinning so the place is always empty.I was down for a walk on Thursday evening the water was bubbling with fish and very close in too.

Fished the left hand side of the car park a few years ago with the float (loads of doggies).looks like a good spot for Wrasse as well (must give it another go at some stage).

After the end of WWII the old air raid shelter in Main st was dismantled and dumped into the shore at this mark.So if you can get a bait in amongst the weed I'm sure the rough terrain holds some good fish.

Enough of the BULLSH#T .On the right hand side there is some rocks accessible at low tide and as far as holiday makers go it should be practically empty and will give you plenty of casting room.
