when to fish

#1 Post by cortaz »

hi
for what it,s worth
july 11th and 25th. are 2 of the best bass fishing days of summer. givin normal weather.
a few days eather side of both will also fish good
i have only blanked 1 this year (self-inflicted) will not blank again this summer. i expect to catch 800/1000 bass, about 300 so far+ 30 odd bream.
on the south coast/ fish the dawn tide on 11th., you will catch more than normal.
i am going to try and catch more than 100 bass on the 11th. 8)
........ hold me to it........

Fair enough, spring tides obviously do make a difference but there are allot more factors to take into account.

Best of luck with the 100 bass target, savage stuff if you can pull it off.
My best Bass in a session was approx 30 plus fish and that was in kerry on a savage morning. Stuff of dreams.

All put back mate. As I have said on many occasion I have kept approx 5 bass in 20 years of fishing for them and most, bar the first one I caught, were kept because of a swallowed hook etc...when I feel it would have been cruel to put them back. So 5 out of what must be somewhere between 1-2 thousand Bass is not bad going..! :)

I found a place like that where you could look out the big summer tides and nearly guarantee fish where they went mad for the spinner trouble is that's back in Stranraer, still looking down here around Inch not successful yet with the bass at all, had a few sea trout though, back in scotland it the only time we could get them was 1.5hrs after hw, not giving up yet there's got to be a hotspot!
