Duration: 2:00 - 7:00

Tide: End of the rise to start of the fall

Weather: Breezy but warm

Bait: Various lures

Rigs:

Results: 4 pollock to 1lb, 10 coalfish to 3lb, 1 mackerel, 2 launce

Report: Fished the rocks opposite St Davids (I think) school to avoid the majority of the mackie-bashers closer to the harbour. Spent the first 2 hours without a take but then had about 3 hours of a fish every 2 or 3 casts. Things quietened down again for the last half hour.
I can't recall so many coalfish on the east coast during the summer before - every spinning trip is resulting in 1 or 2 so far (not complaining though!)

What sort of lures were you using for the pollock and coalfish.

They were mainly kosters and krill, but I was down to a few generic cheapies by the end. These accounted for all the pollack and the mackerel. The majority of the coalfish were caught on shrimp-rigs except for the larger ones which were also on the metal lures.
