People:Me and kstaff

Duration:5am to 10.30am

Tide:high at about 6am

Weather:bit of a blow from the north

Bait:Feathers, wedges, lug

Rigs:spinning and float

Results:14 mackerel, about 8 Pollock and 1 rockling

Report:fished Newtown cove for about 2.5 hours and got all the mackerel there.
After a chat with kstaff we decided to go to a new mark. I recently got permeation to fish a cove that is privately owned and I was told that it is NEVER fished. Virgin Pollock ground. First cast a Pollock a little under 1 lb.
Second cast, Pollock a little over 2 lb. Then it was kstaff's turn with 2 Pollock in 2 casts. a few fish later we had to leave but decided to head back to the car a different way and found my first Peregrine falcon nest :D :D

all told a very enjoyable day.

coaster - do you mean access to the cove is private - or that the cove itself is privately owned - thought it was all our country to the high water mark - youll see the thread from before about tresspass

Hi Barry,

seem to be a few around at the minute TG, I'v eforgotten how well they fight when caught singley.

The secret mark is a good trek away from Newtown, Dunmore area.

First time out in weeks ( house stuff!) so glad to catch anything.

Coaster needed a lesson too, which he got!

Regards,

Hello corbyeire. Yes, I meant the access is via private land.
