If you've got peeler there might be call for a session after some Smoothhounds on one of the beaches a bit further south. Or am I wrong on the time of year for them
Killoughter isn't much further and could produce one.
But greystones might be worth a go spinning for sea trout too (liscence..)

p.s. did you get the frozen peeler yourself or is it shop bought? If bought, where from? Realy want some but Viking tackle doubt they'll be getting any in at all.

Killoughter might be a great idea. I know wicklow well as I have spent most of my summers there when I was younger. It used to be a great beach and you could guarantee a good few cod from the beach and good sized place/flounder. Out in the boat was even better, not even far off shore.

Was thinking of using two rods tonight, one with bait and then spin beside it.

I got them in Viking. I know Gerry in there well and he got me some about 3 weeks ago. Couldnt be arsed trying for them myself, I spend most of my time spinning rather than using bait.

never fished the area in its glory days but now pretty much all I can muster is dogs and small flats with the odd super surprise.

anyway, hope you have a good one and let me know how you get on please

Yeah, I fished it when I was 11, 20 years ago. It used to be a fantastic beach. I remember one year in particular there was a great run of codling. You were almost guaranteed 3 or 4 good Cod up to 3Ib. A big fish when you are 11 fishing with a £9.99 tom n Gerry rod..!
