*****A FELLOW ANGLER NEEDS SOME HELP*****

#1 Post by glengormley-gavin »

Guys - please read this post and offer some moral support to this guy.

http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bull ... php?t=5846

I am really p***ed off with this situation as I am sure you all are.

We have all tried to contact him but he seems intent on chucking it in.

Please reply to his post or PM him.

Jude

Try his email link as if he's not logging on to this site, he'll not get any PMs.

I'm well hacked off about this. Anyone know the full story? I've had a number of people asking me what it was about.....

Don't know Sandman.

I can only assume something has happened when he was out fishing at the weekend...

Would it be worth one of the mods checking his pm's for any untoward abuse being directed at him?

Mods can't read anyone elses's PMs, some of you might be glad to hear. I'm not even sure an Admin can get in.....email might be the best bet....

It'd be useful if we knew exactly what happened or at least more details before making all sorts of assumptions, maybe then we can all give him the proper support and also take steps towards eradicating such behaviour.

I have to agree with Livid. Everyone seems to be making assumptions but nobody knows what happened, if anything.
Its hard to know what to say when you don't know what its about.

i really dont see that any thing here offended him, not unless he is VERY thin skinned.

very very occaisionally some idiot comes on spouting political nonsense of with an overtly political name but they never last long their posts are usually removed proto (good work the mods we appreciate it).

i dont know this guy but it is a pity to see him go.

Fortunately, it's not the forums. It's just a pity the rest of the world hadn't the same manners we have on here.

Yep, I can confirm that PMs are entirely private, no one can see them.

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Anyone figured out what’s going on lads? I hope that this incident isn’t related to the forum?

Merv - seems like there’s a good bunch of lads out there who want to show you their home patches – I’d take the chance to sniff out all their secret spots if I was you!!

i think hairycongers offer to head fishing with them is the best bet - as we have no info its just pure conjecture til now

merv - go fishing, rise above it and talk to the lads

if you dont want to, fair enough and good luck to you

if we keep going on about it as is we could be making a mountain out of a molehill here as we spiral in ten directions at once

there should be a complaints commision or something you could go to when being hassled by folks like that, fishing is a massive thing and i hate it when some bigoted person trys to ruin it for other people.on this subject,me and the gf,s dad was fishing ballylumford once when a group of men turned up and started fishing the opposite side of us,they had a radio on,which was getting on my nerves, and one of the guys kept chucking his line right over mine so we were getting in tangles,i made a point of telling my gf,s dad but did it loudly so the guy could hear me,needless to say he stopped it immediately, but then another one of the guys started running around lobbing bricks into the water just beyond us,i was at this point ready for putting my rod down, rolling up my shirt sleeves and going up and making sure my fist landed squarely on his nose.they could see i was getting drunk off because i was POINT MAKING loudly so they packed up and went.i continued to fish the rest of the day.
