packing peeler crab legs for freezing?

#1 Post by m.b3 »

the peeler crab collecting has been a success. i have frozen down a good supply (and am very happy!) and have a few that should be ready for the weekend. one thing that is bothering me is freezing down the legs of the crab. so far i have been putting 30 legs/ claws into a small freezer bag- for tipping baits/ etc. when i need them. can anyone tell me what quantities they pack they' re crab legs in and has the way i have been packing mine been wrong. i fear they might turn into a big messy ball when i defreeze them, but seperating each leg and rool wrapping like black lug seems a bit excessive? i gave them a rinse in tapwater before freezing them. any info. would be greatly appreciated. it' s nice to have unravelled the mystery of this great bait!
