The fladen charter rod is a load of crap,i got my one for 30 euro at the fishing expo in dublin. The rod is heavy and it is also as stiff as a poker, very little compresion which means very little distance.having said all that i would recomend it for use as a harbour rod etc.

If its a budget rod your after, you would do a hell of a lot worse than an Abu Garcia Enticer beachcaster, I think you can pick them up for 70-80 euro or so. I have one I use regularly myself, its nice and light but also quite poky and I have given it serious abuse over the 3 years I have owned it without problems.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

penn powerstix come as a combo or some dealers selling the rod seperate i recently bought the 15ft for £49.99 from southend angling center very freindly service and p+p only £8 which makes a change as we usually get ripped off by mainland uk tackle shops . a good rod which is rung for fixed spool + multiplier so it is suitable for when you progress to a multiplier
rab
if it cant get its jaws round a 1/0 its not worth catching [ mullet excluded ]
