5 Mile Point. Wicklow

#1 Post by col »

People: Myself

Duration: 7.30pm - 9.30pm

Tide: High according to easytide(greystones) 10:30pm but still semmed way out when I left?

Weather: Light west wind, warm enough 8)

Bait: Sandeel, 3 times refrozen razor

Rigs: 1 clipped down, and 2 hook

Results: 2 dab

Report: Not great. Expected to get some dogs and more flats. Seaweed was a annoying but putting rods high up in tripod helped. Only have it a few weeks, my first one and it's great!

Intended to spin also but water was quite dirty so put a light weight on and scratched around close in. Semmed to get a some bites, even when I realed in a few feet to try and entice a dab the tip would seem to go crazy but for some reason it never resulted in a fish on the beach.
Nothing touched the razor, not even my beautifuly prepared sandeel/razor wrap type thing

Anyone fished this area recently?

Just so I know in the future should I add all upcomming reports of this place to this thread or create a seperate one each time?

Hello Col,

Personally I prefer people to submit new reports for every trip they go out on. It beats having to go to page 2 or page 3 of an old thread for a recent update if you know what I mean?

Whether or not there is a site rule on this I don't know.

Regards,
John D
