Freebies for all

#1 Post by Norfolk and Goode »

Hi folks, just thought I'd let you all into a giveaway offer in this months Total sea Angler, page 51.

The YGA sea division are giving away a LED headlight worth £20 with all copies of the free sea catalogue. 8) All you need to do is contact them on 01709 58 68 78 and ask for the free catalogue. :P They take your details and send it all out the same day post.

You never know when your own headlight might let you down and it's always handy to carry a spare.

Go for it lads and get a bargain.

Phoned YGA yesterday and the catalogue and LED lamp arrived in the post. Excellent service. The catalogue is the same as the one that came with June's Total Sea Fishing.

Without sounding like looking a gift horse in the mouth, the lamp is absolute rubbish. It was flimsy and had a dodgy battery compartment that would not stay closed.

When it was closed with the aid of insulating tape, the battery compartment was open to the elements at the rear. Wouldn't survive a session on the beach.

My three year old equipment tester (the demon toddler) had the lamp totally trashed in less than two minutes!

Totally destroyed within twenty minutes of opening the envelope!

Worth £20.....not a chance....I wouldn't pay 20p for it (and I suppose I didn't, so I'll stop moaning :D )

Hi Esox, I was only going by what it stated in the ad. I haven't tried any batteries in mine yet so I cant comment on wether it closes or not. Thanks for the update anyway, It's good to make other anglers aware of the quality might not be there although it was free and if it does work for them, they at least have a spare.

If you are doubtful on wether it will work in an emergency Please don't use. You need to be confident in your gear at all times as you just don't know when you might need it.

Hi Norfolk and Goode.

Regardless of the quality of the light, I'm grateful for the tip. The service from YGA was first class and I received the package in less than 24hrs after my phone call.

I jumped at the chance to order the catalogue and freebie and certainly wasn't disappointed in the catalogue. They appear to have some good spinners and lures at very good prices (and very competitive postage and packing). I'll certainly be ordering up some lures from YGA for summer spinning.

If I had have been in your position, on seeing the advert from YGA, I would have done exactly the same and let the forum know about it.

The light is currently being 'recycled' to be incorporated into one of the contraptions I build or convert for the 'Tiny Terror' to keep him from demolishing the house. He's fascinated by the light. It's currently being mounted on a remote control car that has a brush attached to the front for cleaning under his bed! Now he can see all the mess under the bed!

All's well that ends well and I'm sure the light will give many hours of pleasure to the Tiny Terror (and peace to his parents).

Regards,

E.L.

Got my light and I agree with Esox lunatic. A piece af c*&£, bought one similar to it at the start of the year for Approx £5 and it seems to be better than this one.
The freebie is being relegated to work purposes now.
