Mizen Head / Sheepshead / Beara

#1 Post by Pyreneenguy »

I will be in Ireland, early June for a two-week holiday. Mostly fishing
( I hope) , but I might try and find a little time for a drink or two !

There are very few reports from my chosen-area: Mizen Head.
I have had very good feed-back from other sources, perhaps there are simply fewer anglers in the region ?

My base is near Dunmanus / Schull , but I would like to explore as large an area as possible :- Beara, Sheeps Head and Mizen Head.

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. I have checked-out various on-line ressources but nothing beats a little local-knowledge !

One thing that puzzles me is the apparent absence of ragworm,
surely they must be present in places such as Toormore or
Ballydehob ?

thanks

Andy

howya doing. i know nothing about that area really but if you come east a smidgen towards clon/kinsale/courtmac therell be a far bit of info.
On the rag situation its fairly scarce and anybody lucky enough to stumble across a patch is likely to guard it fairly closely!
