Sandstorm

#1 Post by Livid »

Acting on impulse, today i went and blew the remainder of my birthday money by ordering a 12' Daiwa Sandstorm zs12f (£99) Fixed Spool, i was getting a bit bored with my Red Wolf beachcaster and wanted something a bit better. Was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of this rod and what did they think of it?

it's good to see you moving on from the Red Wolf line to Diawa..

past experiense of casting a red wolf beachcaster i ended up with a 3 section rod instead of 2... shattered during mid cast... couldn't handle the compression (just as well it wasnt my rod, some one asked me to cast it for them, and boy were they supprised     )

only ever cast the sandstorm once, but i liked :D :D :D nice action in it..
but i think i'll stick to my moonraker supreme

Breaking other people's rods...
Remind me not to offer you a cast with the ziplex Steve!
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Sandstorm query

#9 Post by Sandstorm »

I have the "ZS 13m" teamed with an "sl20h". I am by no means the greatest caster in the world in fact I would say I am not even a good caster but I have had my "Sandstorm" almost 18 months now and I think it is great by the way I am no expert on rods either.

I have a problem with my spine so I can't get a proper swing with it but with my lobs I reckon I am getting at least 90 to 110 yards :) which is great for me so I would recommend. Bite detection seems OK the tip might be a bit soft for some so it may not suit every bodies taste in rods IMHO.

Good luck with the sandy and hope you enjoy your's as much as I enjoy mine.
