Warmer weather, fishing getting worse
I only started Sea fishing Jan 06. Through Jan-Mar I was catching loads of fish, many different type, although small. As the weather is improving, Im catching less and less, and getting less and less bites. Everyone said that sea fishing improves around April. Are there any fish left in the Sea, would I be better sticking to Salmon and Trout, If so who wants to buy sea fishing equiptment.

temperatures etc.
Hi David
The sea lags around three months behind the land, so winter in sea fishing is around late February and early March - very few species and what there are can often be spawned out and in poor condition. As the sea temperature rises the winter species move offshore (codling, whiting) and oceanic migrants come in, particular in May onwards so the fishing should improve dramatically over the coming month. Depending on where in the country you are, it might take two months but improve it will and you should see lots of new species available too...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

Tried looking at your species list but our work filters blocked it under "Criminal Skills" !!! Your secret is out man!
Pesky filters are always blocking pages on account of "Provocative Attire", "Tasteless Content", etc. They'll be giving us electric shocks for impure thoughts here soon.
