Chance to try out my nice new Loomis 12 foot 2 1/4 lb carp rod and Shimano baitcaster reel.
Fished using silver/blue 24 gramm toby and flying C's for about an hour either side of high tide at 9pm. Saw a number of rises but to my fustration got no takes. Any advice on improving my catch ratio would be greatly appreciated. :(

Rogerstown tactics
Paul,
I'm no expert.......but it sounds like you're doing everything right.....maybe just a bit of perseverance.
Casting past rising/jumping fish, a nice steady retrieve bringing the lure past their noses - if it's not working - change your lure.
I've tried the following in Rogerstown...
Various mepps, german sprat, rapalas, surface poppers, flying C's, shads, rubber eels, jellies on lead heads, toby's, kosters etc
I've caught two in the last 3 sessions, one on a red/gold toby and one on a red/bronze flying C - casting to a fish that just jumped on both occasions and a nice slow retrieve - maybe use something with a bit of red on it ?.
I plan to have a go this Thursday evening - send me a PM if you want to meet up
Regards
Aido
