Brown's bay is a good spot for wrasse. Good parking at the toilet/picnic area then a short hike over the road and along the coastal path down to the rocks. Wrasse should be coming into shore now that the weather is warming up.
I use a bunch of harbour rags or a small (whole) crab and a decent spinning rod and fixed spool (pike set-up) and either use a loaded float or hold the rod (tip down) so I can feel any bites.
