Culdaff Beach

#1 Post by scara »

People: Myself + 1

Duration:2 hrs

Tide: high down

Weather: west gale, well sheltered from this art but still a good shore from the previous storms.

Bait:mackeral, squid, sandeels.

Rigs: 3 hook, flapper, 1 hook flowing trace.

Results:4 small turbot, 3 small flounder.

Report: Hadn't fished here for a couple of weeks and wanted to see if the flounders have moved in yet. I'd say if the shore died abit it would be perfect.. and going by the weather it really be worth a try on Friday if anybodys interested. good chance of a trout.

Scara, when you say small turbot, how small, I'm for Kinnego at the weekend and this time last year was crawling with turbot, albeit fairly small. They made around the 30cms mark with a few larger ones threw in. Counter size in a comp though :)

the turbot are palm of the hand size.. the beach is living with them but very rare to get any much bigger.
