John McLaughlin's Swilly Flies & Angling Centre is now a stockist of the full range of Ammo baits - crab, sandeel, squid, worm - you name it. At last, decent bait, near to home. His shop is out of town a bit (five minutes drive out the road towards Ramelton) but his web site has directions - http://www.loughswillyanglingcentre.com/location.htm
He's carrying a fair range of both boat and shore rods, accessories and tackle these days.
Handy, as it's on the way to most of the marks I'd fish most regularly - Portsalon, Kinnegar, Tra-na-Rossan etc.

Right enough, John ought to be paying me. Mention that to him next time you're in with him. I accept all known forms of legal tender.
He does sponsor the odd comp, and he's really making the effort to hold good stocks of the sea gear and bait, so I don't mind giving him a bit of a plug. Getting any sort of a tackle dealer or bait supplier in Donegal is rare enough - a good one is priceless.

There's no reason why good bait should be hard to get and it can make all the difference to the old catch rate - see http://www.ammodytes.co.uk/
As consumers, we should be insisting on the best and not quietly accepting pink squid, mushy sandeel and freezer-burned mackerel. It's hard enough to catch on a good day without having to contend with poor bait.
