North Dublin 19.08.2023

#1 Post by Gonzo »

When: 19/08/2023
Where: North Dublin
Who: Myself
Duration: 19:15-20:00
Low Water: 19:50
Equipment: 9ft Spinning Rod
Lure: Berkley DEX Longshot Cotton Candy 140mm
Conditions: Sunny at times, the day after a storm
Result: 48cm Bass

Started off the session wading out waist deep and casting away with the lure in all directions when I get a take from a small bass, I got it in quick and didn't really play the fish so it was full of energy and going nuts while I tried walking it back to shore to unhook and release as I knew it was undersize but it manage to shake the hook as I was walking back with it.. so went right back to it and a few more casts later I was into a better fish, this time I loosened the drag and played the fish letting it tire itself out, eventually walking it back to the shore I ended up with a 48cm bass for the table and finished up the session after dispatching! I'd say I could have caught more if I had kept going but one fish is enough for me!

First bass landed this year and happy out :D

Tight lines folks

People work to look forward to fishing, for those who can't fish stay in work there's nothing better.
