Attempted Bass Session in West Waterford

#1 Post by Paddy002 »

Hi All,

Our household got struck down with the dreaded covid so took the opportunity to isolate on the beaches in west waterford.

Headed out with frozen crab wrapped up in a way that might have drawn questions from the cops :D

Intended target was the elusive bar of silver but was unable to find them!! instead had a great session with my catches comprising of 1 dog and 4 smooth hounds!

Hounds wouldnt be a species I'd target but are the 1s I've caught a reasonable size??

The one in the picture looks dogfish size so in my book id rather be catching them with a bit of a fight rather than a doggie - that said you can get the bigger females into double figures - but with frozen crab in daylight thats a decent result, well done and youll get the bass next time
