Conditions: Sunny, warm, calm
Result: 2 Pollock
3rd time going back to this area after two blanks. Went to a different area this time.
I set up the baits and after seeing no action on them I started using the light rod with a small jig lure.
Second cast with it I got nice sized pollock. And another smaller one followed a while later.
Nothing at all happening on the bait for most of the day.
Then at high tide I heard the drag go and the rod bent over with a heavy take and it went slack immediately causing the rod to bounce up and nearly take the lot over the side of the rocks.
What ever took the bait bit thought the 25lb fluoro and was away.
Got another bite on the bait rigs but lost it close to the surface.
Put out some feathers to look for mackerel, no dice, just pulled in some sandeel.
There was a lot of weed on the day, but at least with the sea so calm it was easy to spot it moving and pull in the rigs and re-cast to a clear spot.
Rocks still in place at the entries to the fields in the area.
A friend rang the council about them.
They are not covid or winter related. They are there permanently
