Portrane Beach 28.03.2021

#1 Post by Gonzo »

When: 28/03/2021
Where: Portrane Beach
Who: Myself and Ken
Duration: 10:00-13:00
High Water: 12:05
Equipment: 13ft bass rod with 3 hook flapper with B940 size 4 hooks.
My Bait: Ragworm tipped with Squid for first 2 casts then switched to black wraps & squid
Kens Bait: Ragworm
Conditions: Good surf running, luckily the rain held off
My Result: 2 flounders
Kens Result: 3 flounders

Ken gave me some rag at the start of the session for the first 2 casts which got me a flounder each cast almost straight away, he also got a flounder first cast, once I switched to the black lugworm the fishing went quiet for the rest of the session but Ken managed to catch 2 flounders towards the end of the session. So I think I might stick to rag/crab baits down here in future!
