2021 Winter Lockdown - A few trips

#1 Post by chuckaroo »

Headed to the north coast a few times to 'throw the dice' for a bass over the last 6 weeks, fishing was and is a saving grace during these woeful times stuck at home all day. There were a few days of numb fingers and certainly a few blanks but it was great to be out and at it.
Fishing is generally slow from the long and featureless beach (persistence is key) but it can throw up some good bass and flats from time to time, amongst a few other bits and pieces. Fresh whole rag defo seems to the best bait to get the bass.
You can drive onto the beach and during the winter the time is pretty much spent sitting in the car drinking coffee, keeping warm and watching the rods; its good to get a chat back and forward with the other anglers too.
I'd lost count how many times I've tried for bass from the north coast over the years, I'd maybe rather forget, but it eventually happened. A small schoolie. It'll do ..for now

Cheers Brian. Yip, some serious time and effort put in, but I've been talked into using rag only pretty much so maybe things will improve, ha
